Aug 30: Tue – Arusha

Jambo! Welcome to Tanzania. Arrive Kilimanjaro where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for the overnight.(D) Arusha Serena Lodge

Aug 31/Sept 01: Wed/Thur – Tarangire National Park

Safari briefing at breakfast prepares you for an exciting adventure. This morning drive to Tarangire National Park, named after the river that flows through the length of the park and provides a constant water source for the thousands of animals making their home here. Lunch is at the lodge and a late afternoon game drive will bring you close to a large variety  of wildlife. Two more game drives are planned for the next day. (BLD) Tarangire Safari Lodge

September 02/03: Fri/Sat – Ngorongoro Crater 

Breakfast and morning game drive. Continue to Ngorongoro Conservation area; host to the ‘birthplace of man’. It is also home to the unique intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is home to abundant game, including the “big five” – elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. Enjoy lunch as you descend to the crater floor. Next day, a full day game drive in the crater is planned with lunch in the bush. September 04: Sunday – Nairobi

After breakfast, drive to Arusha. Lunch at the lodge and continue to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Nairobi.  Arrive Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta Airport and transfer to your hotel for an overnight. (BLD) Four Points by Sheraton, Nairobi Airport

September 05: – Monday – Samburu Game Reserve

The adventure continues with a drive to Samburu Game Reserve, stopping at the Equator sign. Roughly 250 miles north of Nairobi, the Samburu region is a place of breathtaking and magical beauty. The Ewaso Nyiro river flows through the park and supports a diversity of wildlife. A place where the vision of a deep red sunset silhouetting the doum palms along the river as a leopard emerges to hunt brings the perfect end to a day on safari. The river supports a wide variety of game, including elephant, buffalo, cheetah, and lion, as well as game rarely seen elsewhere like the Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated giraffe. September 06/07: Tue/Wed – Samburu Game Reserve

For next 2 days, explore the beauty and ruggedness of this game park with morning and afternoon game drives. (BLD) Samburu Elephant Bedroom Camp

September 08: Thursday – Nairobi

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi’s Wilson airport, where you will be met and transferred to the hotel for lunch, dinner and overnight. (BLD) Four Points by Sheraton, Nairobi Airport

September 09: Friday – Masai Mara National Park 

After breakfast, we will continue to the Giraffe Center where you have an opportunity to pet and feed the Rothschild giraffes. We will proceed to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage where you will be able to pet young rescued elephants. This afternoon we will board our plane for a short flight to the Kenya’s most famous National park, the Masai Mara. This is the best time of year for the well known migration river crossings. We also are going to the Mara to photograph river crossings by the great migration, the big cats, lions, leopards and cheetahs along with many other animals that live in the Mara all year round. Sept 10/11/12: Sat/Sun/Mon – Masai Mara National Park  

Three full days to enjoy the beauty and wilderness of the Mara with an early morning and afternoon game drives. The Mara is home to the annual migration where millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle trek from the Serengeti plains into the Mara. At this time of year the plains are normally loaded with wildlife as the great migration swarms into the Mara on its annual migratory cycle. Morning and afternoon game drives are planned to explore and photograph the abundant wildlife. Another great photography opportunity is an optional visit to a local Maasai village. September 13: Tuesday – Nairobi/Depart

Morning game drive followed by breakfast. Later transfer to the airstrip for the flight to Nairobi where our representative will meet you and transfer us to the hotel.
