I have used Best Safaris to run all 91 photo safaris that I have run over the past 19 years.
As the first golden rays of dawn broke over the savanna, a sleek cheetah suddenly burst forth from the Talek River, its powerful body and whip-like tail sending up a magnificent spray. Backlit by the rising sun, the magnificent cat’s silhouette stood in sharp relief, a breathtaking sight for the lucky safari-goer who witnessed this dramatic river crossing.
GK’s unbridled enthusiasm and deep love for the wildlife he encounters on safari are palpable to his clients, who are consistently thrilled to explore the wilderness with him. An exceptional guide, it is a thrill to join GK on safari and experience the excitement he exudes in the presence of the natural world.
Giraffes Necking. Young males often spar with each other in a test of dominance to see who is stronger.
Leopard showing her cub affection while cleaning its fur. {IT is heart warming to see how affectionate the cats are. It offers such great possibilities for photography.
Elephants twisting trunks,
Lionesses checking the scent left by a previous lion. It is called Flehmen
White Rhino
A curious wildebeest.
Wildebeest
Ostrich
Martial Eagle taking flight. These birds are powerful enough to capture small gazelle. They are formidable hunters.
As this elephant was climbing out of the riverbed his foot caught the edge of the bank and blew it up. They are extremely powerful animals.
A beautiful Samburu woman who made sure we were well cared for at our lodge.
The sun had already set when we found this leopard resting at the top of a granite boulder . It makes an interesting black and white photo.
A lioness perched on a granite boulder was able to keep a sharp lookout for any movement of wildlife.
White Rhinos sparring. Imagine three tons of power behind the swinging head of a rhino. sThese are massive, powerful animals capable of doing serious amounts of damage in a very short time. Their horns are composed of keratin, the same material our fingernails are made of. It is amazing to me that these rare animals are still poached for their horns which are used as and aphrodisiac. Viagra would be considerably less expensive and it would save the lives of many rhinos.
Run!!! Warthogs run! And run they did! The lion soon gave up the chase and the warthogs survived to live another day.
There were over thirty young ostrich in this flock. Only good parents would have been able to raise so many chicks in such a wild enviornments. Several females might lay their eggs in one nest and then one set of parents raises the chicks.
Leopard cub up a tree.
Female impalas. Must be an interesting conversation. I wish I spoke Impala.
Hyena back-lit at sunrise.
I hope you will join our safari in the future for your African safari adventure of a lifetime! May your days be filled with fantastic photo adventures and as always, remember to enjoy each day.
