This photographic safari is designed to showcase South Africa’s spectacular wildlife together with it’s superb scenic beauty. The first nine days are earmarked to explore three different private reserves on the boarder of the famous Kruger National Park with exclusive access to the Timbavati and Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserves. From there we fly north to Madikwe Private Reserve for three nights. The reserve is on the border with Botswana and is home to 28 different mammal species species such as elephant, both black and white rhino, buffalo, lion, cheetah, wild dog, and other plains game species. Enjoy the thrill of photographing abundant wildlife in the African bush during early morning, afternoon and nighttime game drives. This is a photo safari that is not to be missed!

Let the adventure begin when you board your flight to Johannesburg and travel across the Atlantic with meals and inflight entertainment on your flights.
Sunday: 05 October Johannesburg
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transfer to your hotel. Overnight: Southern Sun Tambo Hotel (B)
Monday: October 06 Madikwe Game Reserve
The adventure to the bush starts after breakfast as we drive to Madikwe Game reserve, this 75 000 hectare reserve is situated in the North-West province of South Africa, on the border with Botswana. The large diversity of vegetation and eco zones allows for a rich diversity of game and bird species to inhabit the reserve. The reserve is home to 28 different mammal species which were released into the park through a relocation process called Operation Phoenix. This was the largest game translocation exercise in the world, with more than 8 000 animals being released into the reserve, starting in 1991 and the project was completed in 1997 and included the release of species such as elephant, both black and white rhino, buffalo, lion, cheetah, wild dog, and other plains game species.

The Madikwe River Lodge is located on the banks of Groot Marico River inside the diverse Madikwe Game Reserve.
Sixteen comfortable and secluded split-level thatched chalets surround the main lodge, each individually decorated to create a rich African feel, with en-suite bathroom and outside shower, full range of guest amenities, separate lounge and private wooden decks overlooking the tranquil forest and river.
Each of the suites have been carefully positioned to ensure absolute privacy. Spacious in design, each includes a closed system fireplace, climate control air conditioner, mini bar fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and full en-suite bathroom and outside shower. Your private deck allows uninterrupted views of the Madikwe Game Reserve.
An outdoor Boma is located on a central island in the river, accessed by a wooden bridge, with early morning breakfasts served under Acacia trees and fine-dining cuisine under sparkling and smiling stars.
Tue/Wed: October 07/08 Madikwe Game Reserve
Set out before breakfast by 4×4 safari vehicle for your morning game drive. Return from the excitement of the bush to a sumptuous breakfast or brunch and then relax at the pool or the sala overlooking the waterhole where game may come to quench their thirst. In the afternoon, when the heat of the African sun has diminished and the shadows are longer, head out again on a sundowner safari, where you will stop to watch the sun set on this bushveld paradise. Thursday: October 09 Manyeleti Game Reserve
After breakfast, fly on specially chartered flight to Hoedspruit Airport, which a gateway to the Kruger National Park’s adjacent private game reserves.
Accommodation for next three nights is at the Khoka Moya Camp is situated on the western border of the Kruger National Park. Home to Big Five, Manyeleti Game reserve covers an area of beautiful and un-exploited 23,000 hectares. In the vast Manyaleti game reserve, guest accommodation at the camp is in exclusive tented-suites, offering the nature lover a close encounter with the sounds and ambience of wild Africa without sacrificing safety or comfort. Friday/Saturday: October 10/11 Manyeleti Game Reserve
Wake each morning to the sound of beating drums and proceed on early morning game drive in open game viewing vehicles. The morning drive is followed by a sumptuous breakfast, after which relax at the pool or participate in a short foot safari escorted by the local guide. Specially constructed bunker allow opportunities to watch and photograph passing wildlife at the waterhole next to the camp. Sun, Mon, Tues: Oct 12/13/14 Timbavati Game Reserve
After the morning game drive activity transfer by road to Ngala Safari Lodge, where we have reserved three days for photographing spectacular wildlife in the Timbavati Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and later board your 4×4 safari vehicle for a photographic opportunity into the African bush. Overnight: Ngala Safari Lodge (BLD)
Ngala Safari Lodge: Ngala was the first private game reserve to be incorporated into the two million hectare Kruger National park and the first three-way partnership between the private sector, the state and a non-governmental organization. Game viewing here is remarkable and memorable ~ the Big Five and great herds of animals in pristine wilderness conditions. Ngala consists of 20 chalets, all air-conditioned with en-suite bathroom. Wednesday , October 15: Cheetah Plains
After the morning game drive activity we transfer by road to the next game lodge situated south, an area renowned for big cats, again arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
At Cheetah Plains, you’ll be blown away by the abundant wildlife and unparalleled game viewing. The famous Sabi Sand reserve is world renowned for the Big Five – leopard, elephant, black & white rhinoceros, cape buffalo, and lion. Here you’ll see so much more. Think leopard, hyena, cheetah, hippopotamus, impala, lions, jackals, zebras, giraffes, elephants, and kudu – don’t forget the birds and fauna as well! Overnight: Cheetah Plains Camp (BLD)
CHEETAH PLAINS: The eight traditionally-thatched chalets at Cheetah Plains melt into beautiful indigenous gardens, which in turn are surrounded by pristine African bush veld All rooms have air conditioners as well as overhead fans to ensure your comfort – day and night. Breakfast at Cheetah Plains is a full English buffet whilst lunch is a simple affair, with hot and cold dishes. Afternoon tea includes fresh bakes and the 4 course dinners are either served in the dining room or around a roaring fire in the boma, outdoors under African skies .
Thursday: October 16 Cheetah Plains
Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve is one of the best locations for a riveting and exciting Photographic Safari. The area is brimming with photographic opportunities, which will thrill both the experienced photographer to the complete novice.

Thursday: October 17 Cheetah Plains
A final game drive this morning is scheduled before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for short flight to Johannesburg where you connect your evening flight home. (B)
Friday: October 18 Arrive Home
Arrive home today to share fond memories and photographs of South Africa with family and friends.
